Free Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs)

As part of the Massachusetts New Homes with ENERGY STAR Program, homebuilders are entitled to free compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) for enrolled projects. The Program will ship the CFLs directly to your electrician and pay them $2 per CFL installed in the home(s). A HERS Rater will then verify the installation of the CFLs during the home certification process. Simply indicate that you wish to receive these CFLs when you apply to the Program with an Incentive Request Worksheet. The CFLs have a two year manufacturer's warranty and are ordered through EFI. To get started:

CFL installation is verified by a HERS Rater as part of the Massachusetts New Homes with ENERGY STAR Program certification process. If a large discrepancy is found between the number of CFLs ordered and the actual number of CFLs installed, the Program has the right to withhold incentives equal to the monetary value of the missing CFLs. Incentive checks for installed bulbs are issued to the name and address where the bulbs were sent, unless otherwise noted on the order form AFTER the home is completed.
